今日はセルビアのTasha先生。実に1ヶ月ぶり。この先生はたしか映画が好きだったはずなので、最近見た映画、Spotlightの話をした。

Spotlight (2015)

Directed by Tom McCarthy. With Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber. The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.

The movie is based on true story. Boston Globe revealed sexual child molestation by a lot of priests. 6 percents of priests did sexual child molestation and a local cardinal covered up those issues. Why did the coverup happen? That's because church has big power In US. Church tried to shut victims up and erase and hide any evidences of trials. Church and victim had a settlement with money in some cases. The problem spread around the world.

というようなことを説明した。この先生もこの映画を見ていたらしく「これいい映画だよね」と共感してくれた。先生もカトリックではないけどクリスチャン(セルビア正教会？)なので、こういうことが世界中で起こっていてとても残念だという話をしていた。ドキュメンタリーだと、レオナルド／ディカプリオの"Before the Flood"というのもオススメだよと言われた。
